You Say ‘Oyster’, We Say ‘Osoyoos’!

The 8th Annual Osoyoos Oyster Festival takes place April 24-28, and promises to be a jewel of an event.

Join BC’s most talented seafood chefs as they bring their most flavourful pearls to the table. Award-winning South Okanagan winemakers, cider-crafters, brewers and distillers will be on-hand, as well. Perfect pairings, long-table dinners, and a boatload of entertainment round out the festival.

Under the new leadership of the Okanagan’s seafood heroes, Jon and Crofts, this year’s festival is sure to delight. The Crofts own Kelowna’s popular Codfathers Seafood Market, and are passionate champions of sustainable harvesting from the sea and the land. Our beautiful South Okanagan is the perfect showcase for earth-friendly, innovative flavours.

Wait a minute. Isn’t Osoyoos in…the desert?

Well, yes. But oyster-lovers are everywhere!
For five days this spring, our sagebrush-covered hillsides and sandy lakeshores will transform into a carnival of coastal delicacies! (Nature’s bounty knows no bounds.)

Dive into the delicious Okanagan

Come To The South Okanagan & Celebrate The Sea & The Season.

Salty or sweet? Metallic or fruity? Baked with rich, buttery bread crumbs, doused in horseradish, or dressed with a simple squeeze of lemon? There are as many ways to enjoy this delicacy as there are varieties of the oyster. We’ll be honouring its briny beauty with culinary experiences and festivities throughout the region.

The 2019 lineup includes:

  • A welcoming, family-style dinner

  • A chic, after-hours tapas party

  • An oyster-inspired cultural tour of the Sylix Okanagan Nation

  • Themed menus at local restaurants

…and more!

Our Seafood Soireé

On Saturday, April 27th, Chef Adair Scott leads a group of exceptional chefs in an evening of innovative seafood cuisine. He’ll be joined by local winemakers pouring their award-winning creations and new releases, and the deliciously danceable music of Falcon Suite.

New for this year is a South Okanagan Oyster Wine competition. Our world-class local wineries have submitted their tastiest seafood-pairing wines for consideration. Bright and bubbly, refreshing and minerally –whose bottle works best with this beloved biscupid? The winner will be announced at the Seafood Soireé.

Close out the weekend with a family-friendly celebration in the streets of Oliver! Discover award-winning oyster shuckers; creative local artists and crafters; a plethora of food trucks and booths showcasing tasty treats. As always, the region’s most sought-after wineries, cideries and breweries will be part of the revelry.

Head south, and spend some time shucking, slurping, and sipping this spring!
