As we are half way through our fall winemaker dinner series, we too have had the opportunity to discover some outstanding wines for the first time ourselves as we work with the winemakers from some of our preferred winery partners. We also had a special Brewmasters dinner as part of this series with our neighbours, Backroads Brewing Company.
Church & State 2019 Coyote Bowl Syrah
Last night we got to try the Church & State 2019 Coyote Bowl Syrah at our winemaker’s dinner that was attended by many wine industry professionals.
The feedback from across the room was that this was truly a special Syrah. This wine is a fruit bomb and has great pepper notes that you would expect from the very best Syrah. This wine can lie down for quite a few years but everyone in the restaurant had absolutely no problems enjoying it right then. Arnaud, the maker of this wine was very humble as he was receiving the accolades for this special vintage.
We’ve brought on the wine to our list at 15 Park Bistro and it is available at the winery that will be open throughout the winter.
Backroads Pale Ale
Staying in the theme of our dinner series, we also hosted a Brewmaster dinner as one of our dinners in our series with Backroads brewing.
Did you know that Watermark Beach Resort has a brewery inside the hotel? Backroads brewing’s original location is in Nelson, BC and we are now home to their second location and it has quickly become a local favourite.
Beers are brewed on site and I have personally quickly become a fan of their Pale Ale. This pale ale is citrus and fruit forward with passion fruit and subtle grapefruit. The beer was an award winner for 3rd place overall in the BC Beer Awards and after tasting it, you’ll know why.
15 Park Bistro has proudly switched their beers to some of the onsite made beers being done at Backroads Brewing.
