The workshop will be led by Jody Schwindt, a Licensed Desire Map Facilitator.

To prepare you for this wellness retreat here are three easy, heart opening yoga poses to try.

Upward Facing Dog

Laying belly down on your mat, stretch your legs out behind you with the tops of your feet on the floor. Place your palms on the floor on either side of your body, forearms perpendicular to the floor, and press into your palms, lifting your torso up and pointing your face towards the ceiling. Keep your body firm and enjoy the benefits of opening up your chest.

Camel Pose

On your knees, legs hip-width apart, place your hands on your hips with your thumbs on the bony plate at the base of your spine. Keeping your hips over your knees, squeeze your thighs toward each other. As you inhale, engage your lower belly, reach your tailbone toward your knees. On the next inhalation, lift your sternum and pull your elbows toward each other and let your rib cage expand. Chest raised and core engaged, drop your hands towards your heels and then lift your shoulders and point your face toward the ceiling.

Bridge Pose

Laying on your back, place your feet on the floor and bend your knees and keep your heels as close to your bottom as possible. With your arms lying on either side of you, exhale and press your feet and arms into the floor. Push your tailbone upwards and lift your bottom off of the floor, keeping your thighs and feet parallel. You can then clasp your hands underneath your bottom and extend them to stay on the tops of your shoulders. Continue lifting your tailbone and thighs to be parallel to the floor, knees over feet, and lengthen each body part. Lifting your chin, broaden and lift your shoulder blades, but be mindful of your neck.
