Oysters have seen a resurgence in recent years, becoming a foodie must-have in circles throughout BC. These tasty little delicacies have spawned festivals around the world and one of the best happens to be right here in Osoyoos!
The Osoyoos Oyster Festival is now in its fourth year and while oysters in the desert may initially seem like an odd choice, there are several reasons why this pairing is a food and wine lover’s dream!

Ever wondered which Canadian wines pair best with oysters? Canada’s Oyster Wine Competition will answer your question and select the nation’s best oyster wines in the following categories; Riesling, Sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Unoaked Chardonnay, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Wild Card (100% Canadian grapes). The winners will be announced at the Art of the Oyster Pearl Gala, held at Watermark. - Beer
Not crazy about wine? That’s ok. The Osoyoos Oyster Festival has you covered! Here in BC, we understand that craft beer is a way of life. So Canada’s Oyster Craft Beer Competition will pair beers with oysters and see which ones are the best! The winners of the competition will be announced at the Oyster Catch & Brew Bash and categories for the beer competition include, Ale, Bitter, IPA, Lager, Porter, Stout, Wheat, Mead, Cider, Wild Card - Scotch
Are you beginning to notice a trend? The Osoyoos Golf Club is hosting the Scotch & Oysters event on April 24th. Shuck oysters and sip some scotch or gin with Grant Stevely from The Dubh Glas Distillery! - Pizza
Ok, we bet you didn’t see this one coming! Under The Tuscan Sea – Oysters, Pizza, and Bubbles gives ticket holders a special opportunity to try oyster and pizza pairings while sipping sparkling wine. Every part of that sentence sounds wonderful! - Free Tickets

The Art of The Oyster Pearl Gala is the signature event of the week. Guests are encouraged to dress up for the event and sample tasty oyster creations from our region’s best chefs and restaurants (including our own Chef Adair from the Watermark Wine and Tapas Bar!). This is wine country after all, so we wouldn’t leave you high and dry. That’s why the oysters are paired with delicious wines from Oliver Osoyoos wineries. At 9pm, the winners of Canada’s Oyster Wine Competition will be announced and then live music, dancing, and a cash bar will keep the party going until midnight!
