Join like-minded green thumb enthusiasts at Sonora Community Centre on April 22nd. Bring your plant seeds, cuttings and starters for a fun-filled morning or afternoon of trading and exchanging. From delicious vegetables to colourful flowers, there’s something for everyone.
There will be a variety of experts on-site to answer any gardening questions you may have, as well as sharing helpful tips and tricks for growing. This event is completely free with no money exchanged, thanks to the generous support of the Town of Osoyoos, Desert Sun Counselling and the Osoyoos Library ORL. Come together and celebrate your love for plants and the environment!

Experience the unique beauty of Osoyoos by participating in a variety of eco-adventure tours this Earth Day. Our little slice of paradise boasts one of the largest concentrations of species at risk in Canada, including over 100 rare plants and animals and over 300 rare invertebrates.
As the only desert in Canada, the indigenous plants and animals found in the “Osoyoos Arid Biotic Zone” are exclusive to this region. Take a walk on the wild side with a variety of hiking trails that will immerse you in this special setting, extending from Mexico North, right into the Okanagan Valley. Star Gazing During The Lyrids Meteor Shower
Discover the magic of the night sky during Earth Day celebrations in Osoyoos. With the Lyrids Meteor Shower at its peak on April 21 and April 22, star gazing opportunities abound in our beautiful region.
Watch the shower from Mt. Kobau or Anarchist Mountain and witness a stunning display of around 18 meteors every hour during the peak. Osoyoos has taken measures to limit light pollution to ensure optimal stargazing visibility, making it a prime destination to appreciate the beauty of the universe and our planet’s place in it.
