Bust out your favourite beach blankets, the 74th edition of the Osoyoos Cherry Fiesta Canada Day celebrations and firework show is gearing up for a pyrotechnic showcase taking place July 1, 2024 on Gyro Beach beginning at 10:00pm. This year, the firework show is hosted by the Osoyoos Festival Society, who have been eagerly anticipating and fundraising for this traditional special event to take place once again.
Support the Osoyoos Festival Society’s Firework Display
While the annual celebration’s event organizers have changed hands recently, the Osoyoos Festival Society is not planning on skimping on this year’s scheduled fireworks display. They are pushing for additional illuminations to make this summer’s Canada Day celebrations a serious blast after their brief hiatus in 2023.
This year’s fireworks showcase is thanks to the generous donations and outpouring of support made to the Osoyoos Festival Society. The society’s president, Ken Baker, gleefully noted that “$20,000 has been raised largely thanks to sponsorship, including Platinum Sponsor Watermark Beach Resort and Gold Sponsor Owl Pub along with nearly a dozen other company sponsors.” Witnessing the community of Osoyoos band together to carry on long-standing traditions is what makes us proud to call Osoyoos our home.
This June 14th, Watermark Beach Resort will be hosting a very special event in our ballroom and invite our local community to join us. All donations and proceeds made will be donated to the Osoyoos Festival Society as our way of contributing to the continued success of Osoyoos’s annual firework displays.
Tickets are $30 and can be purchased through e-transfer to osoyoosfestivals@gmail.com or can be purchased at Elvis fine jewelers.
