Living in the heart of wine country makes it quite difficult to choose which wines you want to share with our guests when you are surrounded by such amazing world class wine options. With the hot summer bringing temperatures into the thirties, nothing is better than a nice glass of Rose on the patio overlooking Osoyoos Lake.
French Door 2022 Rosé
French Door 2022 Rose is one of the best examples of great rose I have had in a very long time.
This particular rose is unique that it is provence style using grapes that are more commonly seen along the french mediterranean.
Grenache, Mourvedre and Cinsault, all varietals rare to the Okanagan, were all fermented separately and blended afterwards to make a very unique, dry style and delicious rose.
The winery is already sold out of this vintage but it is still available at 15 Park throughout the summer season.
Wine Umbrella Co-Syrah
The other hidden gem which has recently made our wine list is the Wine Umbrella Co-Syrah.
The Wine Umbrella is the Lakeboat vineyard’s fundraising wine collection, benefitting BC women entering the wine industry through Les Dames d’Escoffier’s Scholarship Fund.
Every year, Les Dames BC’s Past President Mireille Sauvé makes a different wine – always inspired by international wines but crafted right here in BC using Okanagan fruit. In 2020 she decided to do a co-fermentation between Syrah and Viognier with fruit from near Osoyoos grown on the Golden Mile.
This very rare and unique Syrah is very smooth, fruit forward with flavours of blackberry. We’ve been very fortunate to have access to this vintage and to be able to promote this wine that gives back to so many talented people that contribute to our industry here in the South Okanagan.
