The annual Osoyoos Oyster Festival will be held April 20th to 24th, 2016! This is a fun-filled weekend of indulging in delicious food and beverages, all while taking in the beautiful landscape of Osoyoos. Each day of the festival offers a different event, from mixers to contests, so the hardest part of your week will be deciding which events to attend.
Night 1 – Wednesday, April 20, 2016
The weekend kicks off the evening of April 20th at the Miradoro Restaurant at Tinhorn Creek Winery for their long-table dinner. This dinner starts off with freshly shucked oysters, followed by a scrumptious three-course dinner in honour of the oyster.
Night 2 – Thursday, April 21, 2016
On April 21st, you have the choice of two events! Starting at 6:30pm, Under the Tuscan Sea, a pizza and oyster tasting event, will be held at the Terrafina Restaurant at Hester Creek Winery. Don’t think it can get better than pizza and oysters? Well it can. There will be wine too!
Feeling a bit more social? Pop over to the 2016 Oyster Open at the Greenside Grill where you can not only indulge in a plethora of appies, but also conversation. Mix and mingle with new people and enjoy your choice of beverage at the tasting station, filled with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments.
Night 3 – Friday, April 22, 2016
Give your stomach time to recuperate after an evening of indulgence, then head over to the Whiskey and Oysters event on April 22nd at SOL at Holiday Inn. Spend your afternoon trying delicious oyster and whiskey pairings with special guest Patrick McMurray ‘Shucker Paddy’, the World Oyster Shuckin’ Champion!
For dinner, head over to Spirit Ridge at Nk’Mip Resort for International Oyster Night, an oyster-packed meal with dishes inspired by many different cultures and signature cocktails.
Night 4 – Saturday, April 23, 2016
On Saturday afternoon, attend the Deep Sea Garden Party at the Walnut Beach Resort. This outdoor event will give you the opportunity to sample culinary delights from local restaurants and chefs, while quenching your thirst with local wines and brews. The World Oyster Shuckin’ Champion, Patrick McMurray (aka Shucker Paddy), will also make an appearance at the event.
Who doesn’t love friendly competition? Especially when you get to eat as many delicious oysters as you can handle. The Sage Pub will be host the 5th Annual Oyster Shuck n’ Suck Competition at 8:00 pm on Saturday night. Teams of two will compete to win the coveted title of Best Shuck ‘n Suck Team in the Okanagan. One team member shucks while the other sucks back those oysters in a race to gobble down the most oysters before the clock runs out. A maximum of 15 teams are allowed to enter, so register early by calling 250-495-2322!
The Art of the Oyster Pearl Gala is an elegant, formal evening with cocktails, food, wine, and dancing. This year, the event will be held at Spirit Ridge at Nk’Mip Resort from 6 pm – midnight. Incredible oyster dishes will be served up by local restaurants and chefs, and an Osoyoos evening wouldn’t be complete without wines from our award-winning area wineries. The evening will also offer up the reveal of the 2016 winners of the Canadian Oyster Wine Competition and the Canadian Oyster Beer Competition!
Day 5 – Sunday, April 24, 2016

The masterful Chef Adair Scott will be preparing for us a delectable meal, filled with under the sea treasures for both breakfast and lunch.
