Giving Back to Our Community

Watermark and Devour! Support our Local Community

Watermark Beach Resort and our partners, Similkameen Independent Winegrowers and Destination Osoyoos, are dedicated to giving back to the South Okanagan community that has given us so much.

As such, we donate a portion of the proceeds from the Devour! Food Film Fest to a worthy local organization.

This year, we are proud to announce that our featured beneficiary is the Lower Similkameen Community Fund.

Through the Give Where You Live campaign, proceeds from the Devour! Chowder Smackdown will go directly toward aiding the LSCF’s efforts to enrich the quality of life of Cawston, Keremeos, Olalla, and Hedley residents through a wide variety programs and opportunities.

The Lower Similkameen Community Fund is an affiliate fund of the Community Foundation South Okanagan|Similkameen, the largest grant-making charity in the RDOS. The CFSOS is an ongoing charitable endowment fund that permanently invests 100% of donations received. The income generated by the capital flows back to the community in the form of grants to eligible charities and activities. Donations large and small provide lasting support for local needs and priorities that the community cares about.

For more than 25 years, the CFSOS has worked with donors in pursuit of the goal of building build smart and caring communities throughout the South Okanagan and Similkameen. Since 2013, the Lower Similkameen Community Fund has awarded more than $20,000 to local organizations, neighbourhood action plans, and charities. Learn more.

The Devour! 2018 Chowder Smackdown is an exciting and fun, friendly competition.

Talented chefs from around the province will showcase their best chowder recipes in a fight for the win! Attendees are the real winners, though, as they will have the opportunity to taste all of the delicious entries.
