The annual Canada Day fireworks display in Osoyoos has become one of the highlights of the year here at Watermark Beach Resort. The breathtaking show is the second-largest Canada Day fireworks celebration in the country, so it’s easy to see why this has become such a popular tradition for locals and travellers alike!
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Canada Day Osoyoos fireworks and it takes a lot of work and commitment from the community to make it all possible. The Osoyoos Fireworks Committee is a group of volunteers who fundraise, order, and orchestrate the entire display each year. Thanks to the donation of the volunteer’s time, all of the money that is raised goes directly to the purchase of the fireworks themselves, maximizing every penny that is raised by the local community. Last year, more than $70,000 was raised and the Osoyoos Fireworks Committee hopes to do even better for their 20th anniversary.

Before you get ready to take in the Canada Day fireworks in the late evening, you can spend the day taking in the events of the 67th annual Cherry Fiesta! The day of family-friendly fun is in celebration of the cherry harvest and features the Rotary Pancake Breakfast, the Cherry Fiesta Parade (look for the Watermark float!), and live music on Gyro Beach, among other fun activities.
