Cozying up by the fire, drinking peppermint hot chocolate, watching Elf in your winter onesie… Sounds like your stereotypical winter day, doesn’t it? At Watermark Beach Resort we love a little relaxation and coziness, but we also think that winter is a great time to celebrate and enjoy friends, parties, and most importantly – wine! What better way to make the most of the season than visiting the Winter in Wine Country Festival and all of the wonderful events that it has to offer? The Festival will be taking place around Oliver and Osoyoos over two weekends; November 27th-29th and December 4th-6th.
There are so many great events happening and wineries to visit, so we made a list of the 3 Winter in Wine Country events that you don’t want to miss!
Rosé Revolution
Do you love a good Rosé? On November 28th at 7:30pm, the Oliver Tourism Association will be hosting this event at Hester Creek Estate Winery to celebrate dry rosé from eighteen Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country wineries. Don your pink attire and taste some of the best wines, enjoy appies and live entertainment, and help to choose the Best Rosé in the South Okanagan. Tickets are just $35 and include four tasting tickets; tickets can be purchased at the Oliver Visitor Centre, Osoyoos Imperial Office Pro or at eventbrite.com.
Festival of Trees
For a festive and charitable event, you won’t want to miss the 6th annual NK’MIP Resort Festival of Trees. There is no admission cost to tour this holiday display of gorgeously decorated trees, but a minimum $2 donation is encouraged and will support both the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation & Spirit of the Game Society. This festival will be open starting November 28th and ending on January 3rd at the NK’MIP Cellars Winery, open until 6pm daily, or the main lodge at Spirit Ridge, open until 10pm. Enjoy the sights, support great causes, and get into the holiday spirit!
Osoyoos Community Light Up & Parade
The kids may not want to join you on a Winter in Wine Country Tour, but there are plenty of other events that they will love, including the Osoyoos Community Light Up & Parade. On December 4th and 5th, Osoyoos will come alive with Christmas lights, carols, and festivities for the whole family. The kids can have breakfast with Santa at the Osoyoos Baptist Church, mom and dad can enjoy a Merchant Open House, and the whole family can take in the Santa Parade on Main Street, as well as a number of other fun festivities.
