Rock and Roll Picnic
August 17 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm$10.00 – $25.00
Come to Oliver’s first ever Rock & Roll Picnic, the official fundraiser for the Roots and Fruits Expo! Gates open at 6:00 pm and entertainment kicks off with “The Burying Ground”, toe-tapping dance music, country blues and the energy of ragtime. At 8:00 pm, the volume will crank up a notch when High Voltage, the Okanagan’s best AC/DC tribute band, takes the stage. For those about to rock, we salute you! Tickets include a corn roast and tasting of the gourmet hot dogs created by some of our area’s best chefs as compete for glory in the no-holds-barred “Top Dog” culinary competition. Oliver’s own Firehall Brewery will be selling craft beer and the “Uncork the Sun Sangria Party” will feature white and red wine sangria mixed with local fruit available for purchase. This is a family-friendly event, so be sure to bring the kids along. When they get tired of eating and dancing, they’ll happily dig about in the giant sand box, or get soaked in the pop-up spray park. Penticton’s Hawaiian Shave Ice will be on site for a cool treat. Tickets are $20/adult, $10/student in advance, or $25/adult and $15/student at the door. Children 10 and under are free. Tickets are available at the Oliver Visitor Centre, the Parks and Recreation office and online at oliverrecreation.ca.
