Experience the Fall Okanagan Wine Festival in the South Okanagan

Ah, wine… The living liquid of the gods that has been celebrated for thousands of years in regions all over the world. In more recent times, the Okanagan region has become part of those wine producing, wine-loving corners of the globe and we have the events to prove it!

Each year, dozens of wineries throughout the region gather at key times to celebrate the liquid they love so much, hosting various events along with Signature Events that are presented and organized by the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society. Here in the South Okanagan, wineries will be offering up events and celebrations of all kinds in honour of the fall grape harvest during the first two weeks of October.

Here are some of the great Fall Okanagan Wine Festivals events that you can take in during your stay at Watermark Beach Resort over the coming days:

Hops, Grapes, & Grub

Miradoro Restaurant at Tinhorn Creek will be offering up a delectable 3-course dinner, with each course being paired with a Tinhorn Creek wine and a beer from Firehall Brewery. Best of all, you will be dining in family dinner style with Tinhorn Creek Winemaker Sandra Oldfield and Brew Chief Sid Ruhland!

BYOB – “Bring Your Own BBQ Feast”

For a relaxed autumn afternoon, pack your picnic and head to Castoro de Oro Estate Winery. Between October 3-12, you can take advantage of BBQ’s, cooking utensils, and a picnic area at your disposal!

Romance with Our Reds

Make the short drive to Oliver Twist Estate Winery and sample red wines, paired with savoury and sweet bites that compliment the wine beautifully.

Working Vineyard Experience

Ever wondered about what goes on in the vineyard of your favourite winery? Black Hills Winery has just the ticket, as they offer wine lovers a chance to have some fun amongst the grapes during fall harvest. The day includes a “Vineyard 101” lesson, a “Wine & Grape Pairing” that includes sampling grapes off the vine, a winery tour, a barrel tasting, and more. The afternoon is then capped off with an Alfresco Vineyard Picnic, paired with two glasses of spectacular wine!

Proprietor’s Dinner at Burrowing Owl

Join the founders of Burrowing Owl Estate Winery as you sip delightful wines at a reception amongst the oak barrels in the cave cellar. Following the reception, you will head into the Sonora Room Restaurant for a five course dinner featuring local ingredients and paired with rare, library wines from Burrowing Owl.

“Straight From The Barrel” with our Winemaker

What happens in the time between grape and bottle? Join CC Jentsch Cellars Winemaker Amber Jones for a peek into the winemaking process as you sample the newest vintages straight from the barrel.

Vertical Tasting of Pinot Noir at Seven Stones

Descend into the underground caves at Seven Stones Winery for this wine tasting event of 5 different vintages of Pinot Noir.

Artisan Culinary Concepts

Road 13 Vineyards is one of the best known wineries in the Okanagan Valley, and this special evening will see guests join the owners of the winery for a sumptuous four course meal, paired with artisan wines. This particular dinner will be prepared by Chris from Artisan Culinary Concepts, with a true farm-to-table concept.
