Oliver & Osoyoos Naturalists Events This Spring and Summer
One of the many great things about Osoyoos in spring and summer is spending time outdoors. Nature abounds in Osoyoos and there is so much to see and do.
The following are some spring and summer Naturalist events brought to you by Oliver-Osoyoos Naturalists:
Sun., April 21: Easy at first, exploring mine shaft at Oliver Mountain, followed by longer hike with considerable elevation gain to summit for those continuing. Meet at 9.30 a.m. at Oliver CPR station.

Sat., May 4: Blue Lake to Kilpoola Lake, observing birds and plants. Meet at 9.30 a.m. at Osoyoos Lakeview Plaza.

May 16-20: Meadowlark Festival. Make sure to check the program for interesting fieldtrips when it is published at www.meadowlarkfestival.bc.ca.
Sun.,May 26: Moderate hike in McIntyre Bluff/MtKeogan area, with surprise at end, starting from the Covert Farm. Fairly long hike, moderate elevation gain. Meet at 9.00 a.m. at Oliver CPR station.

Sat.. June 1 : Peach Cliff. A moderate climb to the top of the treed, grassy knob north-east of OK Falls. Tentatively a different route that “may” make it a “bit” easier climb than last year and may add another point of interest (still moderate though) . Meet at 9.00 a.m. at Oliver CPR station.

Sat. June 15: Anarchist Mountain. Strenuous hike from Long Joe road to summit. Round trip 18 km, bring extra water, eg 2 liter. Meet at Osoyoos Lakeview Plaza, 8:00 am.

Sat.. June 29: Old McKinney Ski Area. Easy shaded walk to see last of spring flowers, with lunch near pleasant creek. Meet at 9.30 a.m. at Oliver CPR station.

Sun.,July 14: Looking for Butterflies. Tentative destination: Apex area, depending on flight season.
Meet at 8.00 a.m. at Oliver CPR station.

If you would like further information on a trip, please phone the leader. Please be on time as we like to start promptly. Bring a lunch and water, and wear suitable footwear and clothing. Be especially prepared for cool Spring and hot Summer weather.
We would like to increase our membership, so bring a friend! If you would like to lead a hike or have suggestions for hikes or meeting speakers, contact any of the leaders mentioned in this schedule. Volunteers welcome! Non members and visitors are invited to join us.
Current membership dues: single $25.00, family $30.00. Membership includes a subscription to BC Nature, which is mailed to members 4 times per year. Please pay at the next meeting or outing you attend
