Tinhorn Creek – Enjoy an extensive winery experience at Tinhorn Creek, located in Oliver, BC. With a self-guided tour, you can follow the path of the grapes from the vineyards right through to fermentation. Sample many different varietals of grapes while enjoying a glass of wine. Sit on the patio and enjoy a beautiful South Okanagan view. Try the Gewurztraminer, the Oldfield Series Merlot and the Kerner Icewine. Be sure not to miss their fabulous concert series.
Covert Family Estate – Oliver's Dunham & Froese Estate Winery is now named Covert Farms Family Estate. Enjoy the same wonderful destination for its organic wines, fresh organic fruits and vegetables and country market. Try the Pinot Blanc, The Bluff and Amicitia.
Stoneboat Vineyards – This family owned and operated artisan wine producer is located on the Lower Black Sage Bench in the South Okanagan. Specialties include small lots of premium Pinot varietals. Try the Pinotage. The 2007 Pinotage has won the Lieutenant Governer's Award for the second year in a row.
Desert Hills Estate Winery – Located on The Black Sage Bench in Oliver, BC Desert Hills Estate Winery provides visitors with winery tours and tastings in an intimate environment. Visit the charming wine shop, taste the collection of wines and explore the state-of-the-art processing facilities. Be sure to try the 2010 Gamay and The Ambassador Port.
If your scenic drive has you sidewinding along Highway 3 from Princeton you will want to stop in the town of Cawston.
Rustic Roots Winery has a variety of delectable fruit and dessert wines that are sure to tempt your taste buds. We recommend trying the 2009 Santa Rosa Plum, a dessert wine that is the recipient of the 2011 Canadian Wine Awards for best fruit wine. It is a sweet velvety dessert wine with the aroma and flavours of strawberry candy, citrus, spice, coffee beans and cocoa powder. It pairs deliciously with anything dark chocolate!
Be sure to visit Orofino Vineyards. As Canada's first straw bale winery, the ecofriendly winery design is ideal for maintaining constant barrel room temperatures in the desert heat. Wines to try include the 2010 Riesling, the 2009 Beleza and the 2011 Moscato Frizzante.
Seven Stones Winery cultivates 20 acres of bench land overlooking the Similkameen River Valley in Cawston, BC. The winery style of Seven Stones captures the amazing terroir and French style. Seven Stones Winery is a beautiful place to stop. Come in and sip their varietals and enjoy the view. Be sure to try the award-winning 2009 Speaking Rock Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2009 Row 128 Merlot.
