Activities for Youth Visiting Watermark
For those times when the youth in your group want a change of pace there are plenty of activities to keep them busy during your Watermark Beach Resort vacation while you relax and enjoy the sun, the wine and the golf.
Covert Farms in Oliver is holding a Young Organic Farmer's Summer Camp. This exciting and innovative day camp will give kids an opportunity to learn about growing health-friendly organic food. Hands on educational activities include transplanting, composting, companion planting, inter-cropping, working with worms, seeding and more. Youth will enjoy train rides, swimming, art classes, fishing trips and a corn maze.
The camp for youth ages 7 to 14 runs Aug. 8 to 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is $160 for the week. Visit Covert Farms or call (250) 498-2824 for more information or to register.
Youth can learn to sail this summer with the Osoyoos Sailing Club. White Sail 1, 2, 3 is offered for ages 10 and up. These courses are 15 hours and generally run in scheduled three-hour per day lessons Monday through Friday.
For those wanting a taste of sailing without the commitment of a week-long course, try one of the 3-hour introduction to sailing lessons. Registration forms and more information can be found at the Osoyoos Sailing Club.
Teenagers will enjoy a ride on Osoyoos Lake to experience the thrill of wakeboarding with WakePilot. WakePilot takes care of everything so all you have to do is ride and enjoy the adrenaline rush of riding the water.
